How to get the Agency account structure?
In this article you will find information about the account structure we recommend to agencies and freelancers managing multiple projects for their clients.
As a web agency or freelancer, you may use Weglot for several projects. In order to manage multiple projects seamlessly, we recommend that agencies centralize all their projects in the same Weglot account and give their customers the ability to manage the payment of their own Weglot subscription. Here's how to set up this agency account structure.
Please note that the agency account structure is fully based on the structure of organizations provided by Weglot. If you want to learn more about its operational structure as well as the principles of workspaces and projects, I suggest you read our dedicated documentation.
As an agency you may be part of one of these situations:
- Create your first Weglot agency account and onboard your new clients projects
- You are already using Weglot through different accounts and would like to gather them on the same agency account
You would like to create your first Weglot account and onboard your clients projects
- Create a Weglot agency account using a generic email address used for your agency purposes. For example, we recommend you to use email addresses like contact@my-agency.com or info@my-agency.com or hello@my-agency.com.
- Go to your inbox to validate your email address
- Skip the project creation step and create your first client Organization by clicking on Profile > Scroll down to Workspaces > Click on Create
- Create an Organization with the name of your client and then a Project
- Invite your clients as a Manager of its own Organization. To do so, you just need to click on Users > Add Member > Fill in your client email address > Switch on the Billing Access toggle.
Your clients will receive an invitation by email so they can access their own project and subscribe to a plan by clicking on Billing.
- (Recommended) Whenever you are ready, we suggest you transfer the ownership of their own project to your clients. You’ll remain as a guest on their projects but it will allow you to take advantage of the affiliate program dedicated to agencies.
Now, as you can see on your Dropdown Overview in the top left corner of your Weglot dashboard, you are managing one, or multiple projects, and having access to them on the same account. If you want to add more Workspaces to this account, you’ll just need to replicate the process starting from the step 3.
Important notes:
- As a reminder, Weglot doesn’t offer a dedicated pricing for agencies and freelancers. Your customers must subscribe to one of the general plans. If you and/or your client(s) are still wondering which is the best plan to choose for your needs, please refer to our dedicated documentation.
- As part of our partnership program Weglot for Agencies & Freelancers, we offer the possibility to use our solution, on your own agency website or portfolio for free during 6 months. If you are interested in this offer, please reach out to thibaud@weglot.com
You are already using Weglot through different accounts and would like to gather them on the same agency account
The process that we will detail here will allow you to become Admin as an agency of the organization/project you previously created.
- (optional) If you don’t already have a general Weglot account for your agency, you can create one using a generic email address used for your agency purposes. For example, we recommend you to use email addresses like contact@my-agency.com or info@my-agency.com or hello@my-agency.com.
- Log out of the general account you wish to use for your agency. Then, log in to your existing customer project(s)/account(s) that you want to transfer in your general account. If you are struggling to access your customer project(s)/account(s), please contact our Agency Partnerships Manager at thibaud@weglot.com.
- Go on profile, scroll down to the Workspaces section and find the right Organization. Then click on the eye icon to show the overview. ⚠️ If there is only one Personal Workspace in the Workspaces section, then you will need to click on the “building” icon to transform this workspace into an Organization
- Go on Users > Add members. Select Manager and fill in with the email address of your global account to which you would like to transfer the project. It will automatically email this address so you can Accept the invitation to become manager on this project. Feel free to reach out to thibaud@weglot.com if you need extra team members.
You are now logged in to your general agency account and as you can see on your Dropdown Overview in the top left corner of your Weglot dashboard, the project is now available on this account, through a new Organization.
If you want to transfer more projects to this account, you’ll just need to replicate the process starting from the step 2.
If you are experiencing any issues or concerns during this process, please contact our Agency Partnerships Manager at thibaud@weglot.com.
