How Weglot's Organizations work

In this article, you’ll learn about the structure of organizations within Weglot. You’ll also get an overview of how your Weglot Dashboard is organized, including workspaces and projects.



What is a workspace?

Workspaces let you organize your projects and team members. Each workspace has:

  • Its own subscription plan
  • Its own members
  • Its own projects

There are two types of workspaces:

  • Personal workspace
  • Organization workspace

Everyone has a personal workspace; if you're already using Weglot and you have never created a workspace, you are working in your own "Personal Workspace."

You can create as many workspaces as you want from your Weglot Dashboard > Profile page by clicking the "Create" button.

Once created, you can use the switcher on the top left of your screen to switch between workspaces and projects.

From there, you can:

  • Select a plan for your workspace
  • Start creating projects
  • Invite members to collaborate

What is a project?

A project in Weglot refers to the translation of a specific website that you want to make multilingual. 

Within a project, you can:

  • Manage translations
  • Configure website settings
  • View detailed statistics (with the Pro plan)
  • Set up your integration as a subdomain or subdirectory (for non-WordPress sites)

What is an Organization?

An organization is a group of projects where you can also include external members. It helps with team and project management by allowing you to assign specific roles and responsibilities.

Key benefits:

  • Users can join multiple organizations
  • Members can collaborate on different projects
  • You can create your own organizations to lead and manage projects

This structure promotes collaboration and makes project management smoother at scale.

How to Create an Organization

To create a new organization:

  1. Go to your Profile.
  2. Scroll down to the Workspaces section.
  3. Click Create Organization.

What is an Organization team member?

A team member within an organization has access to the organization's projects.

They may occupy the roles of manager, viewer, or translator.


1) How to add/delete member(s): 

  • Go to your Users in your Weglot Dashboard

  • Click on "Add member."
  • Choose the role permission and enter the email address.

  • Members can also have access to the billing part.

  • Click on "Send invite."

That's it! The new member will receive an email to log in to Weglot (if they don't have a Weglot account yet, they will need to create one). 

How do we change ownership?

It's indeed possible to transfer the ownership of a project to one of your team members. Here is how you can change the ownership of an Organization
