Where can I see the URLs associated to a translation?
In this article, you'll see how Weglot is managing the translation's associated URLs

What is the associated URL of a translation?
When Weglot translates your website, it scans the original content of each page, meaning the HTML code that structures your site. It identifies the visible text and automatically generates its translated equivalent. If a text has already been translated before, Weglot reuses the existing translation. If the content is new, the translation is created and added to your Translations List in your Weglot Dashboard.
Each translation in your Translations List can be linked to one or several URLs. This is because the same content can appear on multiple pages of your website. For example, if the same paragraph is present on both /page1 and /page2 , Weglot generates the translation only once and associates it with both URLs. No duplicate translation is created. This ensures consistency across your website and optimizes your translation usage.
Weglot associates translations with relative URLs, not absolute URLs. A relative URL corresponds only to the page path, such as / (homepage) or /product . This approach allows Weglot to manage translations independently from your domain name and ensures proper behavior across different environments.

Where can I find the URL(s) associated with a translation?
To locate the URLs linked to a specific translation, go to your Weglot Dashboard, open your project, and access the Translations List for the relevant language pair (Search filters - How to easily find a translation?).
Use the search bar or filters to find the translation you seek. Once you click on it, a side panel will open. In this panel, you will see a field named “URLs”. This section displays all the page paths where the selected translation appears.
You can use the button next to each URL to directly access the corresponding page on your website.

What happens if I exclude a URL from translation?
If you exclude a URL from translation in your project settings, you can choose whether to delete the translations associated with that URL (How to exclude URLs/blocks/words from translation?).
If you activate the option to delete them, translations that are only linked to the excluded URL will be permanently removed from your Translations List.

However, if a translation is also associated with other active URLs on your website, it will not be deleted. Since it is still used elsewhere, Weglot keeps it to ensure consistency across your site.
This system gives you control over your translated content while preventing unnecessary duplication and preserving shared translations.
