How to use the Visual Editor Google Chrome extension

1. Why can I use the Visual Editor Google Chrome extension?
On the Weglot dashboard, you can use the Visual Editor, which basically displays a copy of your website on which you can edit the translations in context.

In this environment, the regular mechanisms of your website that need cookies to store information, such as the 'add to cart', Login system, or cookie consent mechanisms, are not loading/working.
Some dynamic content may also not be loaded and thus, not be editable via the Visual Editor.
If you have a bot control on your website or if the user agent needed or the Visual Editor is not allowed at the level of your host provider, the Visual Editor may also not be accessible.
In these cases, the Visual Editor browser extension is a solution!
With it, you can just go to your website (no need to go to your Weglot dashboard), connect to your Weglot account via the extension, and freely edit your translations.
2. How to use the Visual Editor Google Chrome extension
If you are translating your website to an RTL language such as Arabic, you should edit the translations via your original page.
Note that some features of the classic Visual Editor are not available in the Google Chrome Visual Editor extension. For example, the display of translation quality or the edition of SEO translations.
First of all, you need to download our Google Chrome extension from there.
Then, connect yourself to your Weglot dashboard and go back to your website.
Here, click on the plugins option at the top and select "Weglot Editor":
Note that you can pin the extension to have it displayed at the top:
You should be linked to your Weglot account and will arrive on one of your projects.
You can use the arrow at the top left to go through your projects and choose the one you want to connect to.
Once you are ready to edit translations, just click on "Start editing.":
Then, you can go over the texts you want to edit, and you can click on the pen at the top left of each block of text (just like you will do on the classic Visual Editor):
Then, you can select the language and edit the corresponding translation.
If the translation hasn't been generated, you may see a "Translation not found" message. In this case, just switch the language on your current page, and the translation will be generated.
When you are done with editing translations, just click on "Stop editing.":
