How can I transfer the ownership of a workspace?

In this article, you'll learn how to transfer the ownership of a Weglot workspace to another member.

Steps the giving account needs to follow to transfer the workspace


The very first important element to identify is whether the workspace you are trying to transfer is personal or is an organization.

To see this, go to your Weglot dashboard > click on your profile icon at the top right > "Profile" > Scroll to the "Workspaces" section.


Here, you'll see your different workspaces (the default one is *email_address*'s workspace), look at the type of the workspace you want to transfer:

If your workspace is personal, click on this button to switch it to an organization:



Now that your workspace has the "Organization" type, here is what you need to do:


  • The giving account needs to add a new person to the Workspace as a manager. Go to User > Add member > Select "Manager" as the role and enter the new email > Save changes.

(In the meantime, the user who will receive the workspace will have an invite to accept)

  • Connect to your Weglot Dashboard > Click on the "Attention required" at the top right of the screen > You have one pending invitation" > Accept the invitation.

Once the invite is accepted, you can transfer the workspace to another account.

  • Then go to User > click on the shield to transfer the workspace:
