How to let my users know I am using AI translations?

In this article, you will learn more about how to inform your website visitors that some translations may be generated using AI

When using Weglot, the first layer of translations is generated automatically. Then, translations can either be edited manually or refined using AI.

You can use AI suggestions directly in your translations list to rephrase or shorten translations, as explained in this article.

You can also use our Language Model feature, which helps generate translations that better match your needs and your website’s context. Learn more about this feature in this article.

How to display the AI translation notice?

To display the AI translation notice, go to your Weglot Dashboard and select the project corresponding to the website where you want the notice to appear.

In your project settings, locate the “Settings” section on the right-hand side, then click on “General.”

You’ll find an option that you can activate or deactivate (don’t forget to click “Save Changes” in the top-right corner):

Once this option is activated, you’ll need to specify where the notice should appear on your website using a CSS selector.

Reminder: To find the CSS selector:

- Right-click on your website page

- Go to "Inspect" to open the console

-  In the "Elements" tab, use the arrow at the top left of the console to target an element

- Right-click on the element you want to know its related CSS selector

- Go to Copy > Copy selector

- Paste the selector here:

The notice message will then appear on the translated versions of your website:
