Top Level Domain - Integration
In this article, you'll learn more about Top Level Domain integration.
Note: The Top Level Domain feature is available for Extended and higher plans
Weglot provides different integration solutions:
- JavaScript integration: This integration translates the website on the client side, maintaining the same URL as the original website
- Subdomain integration: This integration provides server-side translations that allow the website to have its translated version indexed. The translated URL looks like: https://en.website.com/
- Subdirectory integration: This integration also provides server-side translations. The translated URL will look like: https://www.website.com/en/
You can learn more about how Weglot manages SEO by reading this article.
A Top Level Domain (TLD) is a domain extension like .com, .fr or .de
This domain extension allows a website to be linked with a specific language or country. This allows having your domain like mywebsite.fr instead of mywebsite.com/fr for instance.
How does it technically work?
In order to benefit TLD you should have your own Top Level domain and manage it. Then Weglot will be able to link its proxy to it in order to manage the different TLD.
You can learn more about it in our SEO documentation.
