How to manage automatic translations
In this article, you’ll learn how to manage automatic translations and review newly detected content before it appears on your translated website.
When you deactivate the automatic content translation feature, you’ll need to manually approve newly detected content before its translation is displayed on your translated website. This helps prevent your word count from increasing unnecessarily and reduces unwanted translations on your site.
1. Why disable automatic translations?
Disabling automatic translations gives you more control over the content that is published on your translated website.
Some of the main benefits include:
- Manage your word count: Only approved content will be displayed on your translated website, helping you avoid unnecessary translations and better manage your word count.
-
Review content before publication: Review newly detected content and decide whether it should be displayed on your translated website before making it live.
2. Disable automatic translations
- You can disable automatic translations from your Weglot Dashboard by going to Settings > General and turning off Automatic content translation.

Once disabled, newly detected content can be accessed in two ways:
- From the Weglot Dashboard, go to Translations > Languages page and click "Detected content" next to a language.

- From the Actions dropdown button, select "View detected content".

3. Approve or reject detected content
When Weglot detects new content, you have three options:
- Approve: The content is added to your Weglot Dashboard > Translation List, and its translation is displayed on your translated website.

- Ignore: The content remains in the Detected content list and is not displayed on your translated website, allowing you to review it later.

- Reject: The content is moved to the Rejected filter, where you can review it again if needed.
