How to manage automatic translations

In this article, you will learn more about automatic content translations and how to manage them.

When you deactivate the automatic content translation feature, you'll need to manually approve all new content before Weglot generates the translation. This prevents your word count from increasing and reduces unwanted translations on your site.

1. Why consider turning off automatic translations?

    1. Disabling automatic translations can have several purposes:
      • Control your word count: only content you approve will be translated, which can help manage your translation
      • Control the translation quality: you can see the original content that needs to be translated, which can help you decide if it needs to be translated.

2. Deactivate automatic translations

    1. Automatic translations can be deactivated in the Dashboard > Settings

You can find the automatically detected content:

    • In the list of languages, by clicking on the button > Detected content

    • Via the Action button > View detected content

3. Approve/reject translations

When Weglot identifies new content, you have three options:

    • Approve: The detected content disappears from the list and appears in the Translation List, where it will be translated.

    • Ignore: The detected content will not be translated, but will continue to appear in the detected content list.

    • Rejected: Translations that have been rejected go to the "Rejected" filter, which you can use to view your approved or rejected translations accordingly:
