SAP Commerce Cloud - Integration / Setup
Translate your SAP Commerce Cloud store
Translate all your content and make your SAP Commerce cloud store multilingual within minutes.
Step 1: Create a Weglot account
Create an account to set up your multilingual website, manage your translations, and customize your settings depending on your needs.
Once you’ve signed up, you’ll receive a validation email that takes you to the Weglot Dashboard and the setup page.
Add a project name (e.g. your website name) and select your ‘Website technology’ > ‘Other’.
Step 2: Add your new languages
Now add the URL of your website, the original language of your website, and the languages you want to translate it into.
Step 3: Create your subdomains (important for multilingual SEO)
Here, you’ll create your new language subdomains, e.g. https://fr.mywebsite/ (for the French version of a website). This involves connecting your DNS records, so you’ll need access to your domain name provider account.
Note: this example is using Google Domains. Check out other subdomain/ DNS setups here or contact us if you need further help: support@weglot.com.
In your Weglot account setup process, you will find your DNS entries, like the screenshot below. (This example is showing a French entry).
Go to your domain name provider account and locate the ‘DNS’ tab. Here, you’ll need to create new entries in the section that should be called something like ‘custom resource records’.
Select CNAME as the ‘type’, enter your 2-letter language code in the ‘name’ section, and the record itself in the ‘data’ section. For instance, 'de26c865.translate-cf.weglot.io'.
Click 'Save all changes' and then go back to your Weglot Dashboard. Click on the green ‘Check DNS’ button. This can sometimes take up to 10 minutes, so don’t be alarmed if the green tick doesn’t appear immediately next to your DNS records.
Step 4: Add your language switcher
The last step is to copy and paste a piece of code given to you in your Weglot account setup into your SAP Commerce Cloud store dashboard.
In your SAP Commerce Cloud account, click on the settings icon, then ‘Advanced’. Click on ‘Edit Head Markup’ and paste the snippet there.

Your SAP Commerce Cloud store is now translated!
Head to your store, and you’ll see that we’ve added a language switcher in the bottom right corner. If you end up changing your mind, you can easily edit the design and position in your Weglot Dashboard. Change the language to see your new multilingual site.
Want to make edits to your translations? Go to your Weglot Dashboard to make manual changes, add your own translators, or order professional translations to set your preferred translation quality.
