How to set up two-factor authentication?

In this article, you'll learn what two-factor authentication is, where you can activate it, and how to set it up for your Weglot account.

1. What is two-factor authentication?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security to the authentication process. Instead of just providing a username and password, this adds an extra authentication step. In this case, validation is performed through an external app such as "Google Authenticator" or another two-factor authentication application.

This will improve the security related to your Weglot account.

2. Where and how can I activate this feature?

To activate the two-factor authentication feature, go to your Weglot profile page by clicking the avatar at the top right, then select "Profile."

In the Account security section, click the "Two-factor authentication" toggle button (off by default):

You should then see a pop-up:

First, download a two-factor authentication application (such as the free app "Google Authenticator") and scan the displayed QR code.

Enter the six-digit code provided by your app and click "Activate."

You are done! Your Weglot account is now protected with two-factor authentication.

When you try to log in, you'll have to enter the six-digit code present in your two-factor authentication application:
