Do I pay full price when I upgrade my plan?
In this article, you will learn if you pay the full price when you upgrade or downgrade your subscription.
Upgrade
When you upgrade from a smaller plan to a larger plan, you don’t pay the full price of the new, larger plan. Instead, you pay the prorated difference, which accounts for the unused time in your billing cycle.
You may see two invoices in one month if you upgrade within the same billing cycle:
- The plan renewal charge: either for the older plan — if your subscription was renewed before you upgraded — or the newer plan if you upgraded before the subscription was renewed.
- The charge for the prorated difference between the old and new plans.
Downgrade
If you switch to a smaller plan, you’re eligible for a credit for the difference between the old (higher) plan and the new (lower) plan. This credit reflects the unused time on the older plan you already paid for.
The credited amount will be automatically applied to your upcoming invoices, reducing what you owe in future billing cycles until the credit runs out.
The credit is displayed on the Billing page of your Weglot dashboard (in the top nav bar).
